Our Latest Hive Inspection Is a Bit Concerning

May 28, 2022 Cheryl No Comments Uncategorized
I didn’t see any freshly laid eggs. I did see some developing larvae so that’s good. As usual, I couldn’t find the queen. However, I did find a couple of emergency queen cells. Did something happen to her?

First Impressions of the Precision Pet Red Door Hen House II Chicken Coop

May 24, 2022 Cheryl No Comments Uncategorized
This coop will be fine for raising our growing chicks in close proximity with our existing flock. However, I would not put 4-5 adult chickens in as it advertises. Our One rooster was cramped in it.

3-Week-Old Chicks

May 10, 2022 Cheryl No Comments Uncategorized
I think I have 2 cockerel and 1 pullet chick. The males enjoy cock fighting in my bathroom. As long as I don’t take bets it’s legal right?

We Now Have An Apiary!

Unfortunately, the camera battery didn’t last for the whole process. However, it went pretty well. Nobody got stung and the bees are hanging around the hive, hopefully freeing the queen from her cage. We’ll check back on her in a couple of days.
