Collecting some honey for the first time before the evenings drop into the thirties. The two frames I collected from were mostly capped and the moisture level tested at 16% using a refractometer.

The chicks enjoy fluttering around in their outside coop. Unfortunately, they’re too small to join the adults foraging. Not all of the hens have a mothering instinct. This is the last video I have of Darth James.

James Has Started Mating Before Crowing!

I haven’t heard either of the boys crow. Since I’ve only seen James mating, I’m guessing that he’s the dominant male. The light brahma females haven’t submitted to his authority. They are much bigger than he is and are not afraid to stand up to him.
